CONSTELLATION

Sketches

CONSTELLATION is a series of 8 light, sound, and sculptural installations spread through-out Governor's Island in New York City. These sculptures invite youth from Beam Camp City's summer program to share their creativity in ways big and small. Each effort contributes to the constellation parts. Each sculpture has a base (which takes the shape of giant human limbs and are made of cob and lime plaster); stem (which are as tall as a small tree and are themselves acoustic instruments); web (which are the umbrellas of lines that bloom from each stem); and bells and lights (suspended on the webs). CONSTELLATION is a celebration of light, sound, and human connection.

Governor's Island, New York, New York. Summer 2021.
